La pólvora, el veneno y los esclavos: el atentado de 1662 en el Buen Retiro y el fin de la carrera política de don Gaspar de Haro en la Corte

Resumen:
El atentado fallido del 14 de febrero de 1662 contra la familia real en el Coliseo del Buen Retiro, constituye una de las mayores incógnitas del final del reinado de Felipe IV. Un juego de acusaciones que quedaron registradas en el manuscrito 2.280 de la Biblioteca Nacional, y en las que se perciben los celos entre distintas facciones cortesanas, acabando con la no muy clara culpabilidad y posterior condena de don Gaspar de Haro, marqués de Heliche, y su alejamiento casi total de los puestos de poder en la Corte durante el resto de su vida. A través del mencionado manuscrito se irán repasando el juicio y sus contradicciones.
Abstract:
The failed attack of February, 14th 1662 to the royal family in the Coliseum of the Buen Retiro, is one of the biggest uncertainties during the reign of Philip IV. A game of accusations that was registered in the manuscript 2,280 of the National Library of Spain reveals the jealousy between the different courtesans factions, ending with a not so clear culpability and following judgment of don Gaspar de Haro, Marquis of Heliche, and his almost total removal of positions of power in the Court for the rest of his life. Through the above-mentioned manuscript we will review the judgement and its contradictions.
